    Description

    Minton English Bone China Blue White Gold Gilt Vegetable Tureen Covered Dish
    Very pretty and old Minton English china covered dish bowl tureen with lid.  Pattern is very similar to Shalimar but a much older, antique version of the pattern.   Bowl base of tureen measures 8 inches on interior and 10 inches handle to handle.  With lid on to top of finial it measure 4 3/4 inches in height.  Perfect for serving vegetables, side dishes, etc.   Finial is beautiful gold gilt on white.
    The condition of bowl base is excellent and is pure white with no stains to interior as often is found with older tureens.   The bottom of base does show a bit of wear to be expected. It is marked with the Mintons England blue cobalt underglaze mark with crown that dates it to as early as 1891.
    The lid has had a repair but I must say it was very well done.  You hardly notice it from the top... only when you pick up and turn it over do you see it. It is discreet and well hidden due to the blue border.  Then center white portion of lid is clear and white.  Very sturdy.   This piece has lots of good service left to it and the blue and white pattern is so lovely and classic.  It will blend with many dinner patterns!  Please see photos as they are part of the description.  Feel free to ask questions.
