ORIGINAL c1890 MINTON CHINA WORKS STOKE ON TRENT 'CAVALIER GENTLEMAN' RED MAJOLICA FRAMED TILE
This is a great piece.  I was lucky enough to pick up a scarce collection of original Minton tiles from a local Massachusetts estate.  I have actually had one of these in the past, one of these cavalier tiles by Minton, but it was in the sort of yellow green majolica color.  That is the color I have seen out there a few other times and have seen a few of those available out there on the internet.  What I have never seen and was very excited to acquire and offer this week is this type of tile in a very rich and rare red majolica.  A wonderful large tile measuring 12 x 6 inches tall.  A raised relief pattern of the cavalier with his sword drawn and being bent in his off hand.  The tile is in outstanding condition with the only thing at all being minor craquelere.  A couple of very minor scratches to the top surface but really a stunning example of this scarce tile.  Lemon gold lined tobacco brown oak frame that is original and an outstanding presentation.  Back is the original wood frame that holds the whole tile in.  I chose not to remove it to photograph the mark but I am 100% confident this is an original Minton tile that dates to around the turn of the century.  Frame measures 16 3/4 x 10 1/2 inches.  Do your own research on this scarce original piece.  If you collect these tiles check my store for the other 2 I am offering.  A great chance to pick up these very rare red majolica tiles.  FREE SHIPPING ANYWHERE IN THE UNITED STATES NO MATTER HOW MANY OF THEM YOU PURCHASE!!!
